Casey Anthony back to jail

August 28, 2008

Fox and Friends had Tony Padilla on their show this morning. He has done a complete 180 and now believes Caylee Anthony is dead. There is a planned protest out side the Anthony house on Monday. My bet is she will be back in jail before then.

Update – Saturday, August 29, 2008 - I was right, it’s saturday night and she has been arrested again. Watch the video here.

Fox News attacks CNN

August 25, 2008

Great ad from Fox News. They are running it in the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal the next two weeks. The pew poll Fox News got their research from. I like how they ignore MSNBC like they don’t even exist.

August 23, 2008

More great news from the world of science. Check this story out.

“Japanese scientists said Friday they had derived stem cells from wisdom teeth, opening another way to study deadly diseases without the ethical controversy of using embryos.”

Bush plan would blunt state birth control law

August 23, 2008

Great news from President Bush. The SFGate reports:

A proposed Bush administration regulation on contraception and abortion would stop California from enforcing a state law that requires Catholic hospitals and charities to provide birth control coverage for thousands of female employees, state Attorney General Jerry Brown and family-planning advocates said Wednesday.

The U.S. Health and Human Services Department regulation, still in draft form, would define abortion as including certain methods of contraception and would prohibit states and other recipients of federal funds from penalizing health care workers who refused to provide those services because of religious or moral beliefs.
Violators would forfeit federal health care funds, which in California amount to as much as $37 billion a year.

Why isn’t Casey Anthony out of jail?

August 20, 2008

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad she’s not out of jail. However we were told she could be out as soon as Monday. However because of various red tape, in jail she sits. Fox News talks with the bail bondsmen that is springing her.

Calling Out Your Name

August 20, 2008

The song has been in my head the past week. Rich Mullins is one of my favorite singers, he passed away tragically in a car accident in 1997. The musical intro to this song is simply marvelous.

Well the moon moved past Nebraska
And spilled laughter on them cold Dakota Hills
And angels danced on Jacob’s stairs
Yeah they danced on Jacob’s stairs
There is this silence in the Badlands
And over Kansas the whole universe was stilled
By the whisper of a prayer
The whisper of a prayer

And the single hawk bursts into flight
And in the east the whole horizon is in flames
I feel thunder in the sky
I see the sky about to rain
And I hear the prairies calling out Your name

I can feel the earth tremble
Beneath the rumbling of the buffalo hooves
And the fury in the pheasant’s wings
And there’s fury in a pheasant’s wings
It tells me the Lord is in His temple
And there is still a faith that can make the mountains move
And a love that can make the heavens ring
And I’ve seen love make heaven ring

Where the sacred rivers meet
Beneath the shadow of the Keeper of the plains
I feel thunder in the sky
I see the sky about to rain
And I hear the prairies calling out Your name

From the place where morning gathers
You can look sometimes forever ’til you see
What time may never know
What time may never know
How the Lord takes by its corners this old world
And shakes us forward and shakes us free
To run wild with the hope
To run wild with the hope

The hope that this thirst will not last long

That it will soon drown in the song not sung in vain
And I feel thunder in the sky
I see the sky about to rain
And I hear the prairies calling out Your name

And I know this thirst will not last long
That it will soon drown in the song not sung in vain
I feel thunder in the sky
I see the sky about to rain
And with the prairies I am calling out Your name”

Where the sidewalk ends

August 18, 2008

My four year old daughter has discovered Shel Silverstein and “Where the sidewalk ends.” Her favorite poems are, “Peanut Butter Sandwich” and “Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me Too.” This book was, without a doubt, my favorite book growing up. I remember long waiting lists at the library for the book. Whenever one of the kids in my class got the book there would be a buzz in the room. It was odd because it was a unique reaction to just a book. And apparently, I was not alone.

Speaking to my wife and brother-in-law about this, they report the same thing in their schools. They recall actual fighting and arguing over who got to check the book out! Are we alone? Is there something crazy in the water up here in Michigan? What’s your story?

Kwame’s a Democrat right?

August 15, 2008

This happens every time a democrat gets in to trouble. Fox News does a great job pointing out the oblivious bias of the mainstream media.

White Flag Mentality of Europe

August 15, 2008

“There’s a routine now whenever some unspeakable act of aggression is visited upon us or our allies by murderous fanatics or authoritarian regimes. While the enemy takes a victory lap, we compete in a shameful medley relay of apologetics, defeatism and surrender. The initial reaction is almost always self-blame and an expression of sympathetic explanation for the aggressor’s actions.” – Gerard Baker

Gerard Baker has a wonderful piece written today on Times Online. Check it out.

The clues are starting to pile up. Something tells me we are close to finding out just where little Caylee is.

A Haunting on the Discovery Channel

August 12, 2008

“The events depicted in this program are based on eyewitness accounts.”

A Haunting is an american television show that airs on the Discovery Channel. The show claims to tell the true story of families who have experienced paranormal activity. During each episode the family gives one on one interviews while actors reenact their stories for the viewer.

The show is produced extremely well in the documentary format, however they hardly ever give the viewer substantial proof. Many times in the reenactments we see the families talk about ghosts attacking and causing physical damages to the people. Many times voices well be captured on audio recorders. And pictures will be taken of supposed ghosts. They hardly ever cut to these or show us the real evidence from the case.

Why wouldn’t each of these individual stories get the attention of the national (or even local) media? I just wish this show would give us more information.
