Joe Biden endorses John McCain

October 24, 2008

Ads that use the words of opponents against them always work more effectively, and this could be the Best of Class, perhaps even better than Joe the Plumber. While most Americans reject redistributionism, it has nuances that allow Barack Obama to explain it away in rebuttal. Biden’s statement has no shadings at all. Elect Barack Obama and we’ll face an international crisis right away specifically to test Obama — because he’s untested and inexperienced.

Every voter understands what that means. Who wants unnecessary crisis? As the ad states, they can avoid that by electing John McCain instead. Heck, Biden’s own words makes that plain.

Team McCain says the ad will run in “key states”. It should be seen nationwide, but I’ll settle for eight or nine swing states.

  1. So how ’bout that al Qaeda endorsement for McCain? Isn’t that more of an issue than twisting Biden’s words to suit the McCain campaign talking points?

Here’s some facts you’ll hate to hear:

9-11 was a tactic to lure America into losing its cool and entering into a fight on bin Laden’s terms – an age-old terrorist/guerilla tactic. The strategy was to ‘topple the American giant’ by ‘bleeding it of blood and treasure’ by getting us embroiled in a long and expensive war. It has happened and Bin Laden is winning. Bush has cooperated 100% with the plan. And McCain would do the same because he’s cut of the same kneejerk, impulsive, base-driven cloth as Bush.

It’s true, Obama would be tested. So would McCain. The difference would be which president would respond in the most measured, intelligent and tactical way that would be best for America. I know who I’d bet on and I know which president represents less of a risk of my son getting drafted in a few years.

  2. Biden didn’t say “they both will be tested” or “who ever wins will be tested.” He specifically, pointed out Obama. And this goes hand in hand with Biden’s first comments that Obama was not ready to be president because the job doesn’t lend it self to on the job training.

McCain is tested, Obama is not.

  3. Biden didn’t, but I did. It’s historical precedent: Bush was tested (err… 9-11), Clinton was tested (WTC), Reagan was tested (Poland), Carter was tested… McCain will be tested. Guaranteed. Or do you think al Qaeda, Putin, North Korea and all the other scumbags of planet earth will just give up because McCain is elected?

If anything, having a demonstrably erratic and impulsive president like McCain would mean a lot more testing.

  4. Wow. Is anyone else reminded of the anti-terrorist fear-mongering that got Bush re-elected?
