CNN – “Sanchez, Idiot” returns 500,000 google results
November 20, 2008Today were going to focus on the good, the bad and the ugly from CNN’s Journalism department.
The ugly - CNN’s Rick Sanchez is an idiot. He has this minute piece on President Bush getting snubbed at the G8 Summit, he just hosted. Watch the video first:
I know its extreme, but Sanchez should be fired for this report. If not fired, he should be forced into coffee duty for the other real reporters. Two points:
1) The president wasn’t snubbed. Look at the video, you can see President Bush didn’t extend his hand to anyone either. President Bush is hosting this event, and he had just greeted these same leaders moments before (video here).
2) Sanchez says President Bush is the “bully everyone used to like or pretend to like.” He then commits the number one journalistic crime by making an accusation and then attributing it as, “some people say.” He says, “just to be clear, these not my words.” He tries to back paddle is way out of the mess he just made of himself by saying, “I checked, I googled Bush and Bully together, you ready, 2,500,000 hits.”
Ed Morrissey googled “Sanchez and idiot” and it returned over 500,000 hits. Case closed.

Let us also remember one other little tidbit about senor Sanchez:
On December 10, 1990, Sanchez struck a pedestrian, Jeffrey Smuzinick, with his car on a residential street near Dolphin Stadium after Smuzinick entered into the road. Sanchez, who had just left an NFL football game with his father, fled from the scene with complete disregard for Mr. Smuzinick. He later plead no contest, to DUI.
So we should probably add drunken murderer to “stupid.”
This isn’t funny. This kind of thing is just sad, and these are the pathetic fools we elect, and people revere. Morons.
I’m confused. What’s your point? You’re angry that Bush is snubbed or angrier that it’s being reported? Should our media be like a communist news organization that only flatters the dear leader and suppresses negative stuff?
Let me explain it in simple terms for you. This would be like you hosting a party and you greet everyone at the door. Then you need ice, so you go get some at the store. When you come back to your party, there’s a bunch more people coming in the door.
All the previous guests go to the door and greet these new guests. You however just shuffle in the door and maybe smile at only a couple of those guests, because you ALREADY GREETED THEM!
It would be rediculous to pretend you haven’t just said hello them just a little while ago. And besides, in this case, that previous hello was already longer than it should have been to make for the photo ops etc. those handshakes probably lasted for minutes each time.
OK. Seems Sanchez didn’t do his fact-checking. If he keeps up this level of inaccuracy and distortion, he might be eligible to join Fox News.
Shame the recognition of Sanchez’s sloppy journalism doesn’t cure George Bush of having lost America more popularity overseas than anyone in history.
But so what if the French don’t like us? you may respond… The effects of people abroad not liking America so much? They buy crap from other countries that are easier to do business with and the dollar plummits in value. Doesn’t help much with that recession thing now does it?
I have never seen such a pathetic excuse for a broadcaster as Rick Sanchez. His completely inaccurate portrayal of the video from the G-20 Summit along with his absolutely dispicable comments is the worst example of “journalism” I have ever seen. To broadcast such a horrendous distortion of the facts and call it “news” on top of the blatent hatred and deceitfulness with which it was described is a disgrace to CNN and to the entire field of broadcasting.
Please leave Rick Sanchez alone. In my opinion, he is a superior journalist, family man,and human being. Just remember, noone is perfect!I truly enjoy seeing and hearing him on CNN.
