People love Drew Lane. Every day I average about 25-50 hits just by the search term “Drew Lane.” Mike in the Mornings at WRIF is just not the same, in fact most believe the show sucks. It’s going to be at least six more months before he hear Drew again on the radio. Here is what we know so far about his new show:
- It should start around the first of the year in 2009
- Drew will be broadcasting from his home in the Detroit area
- Mr. Skin will phone in everyday via ISDN from Chicago
- This will not be a “nude women in movie show”
- Drew and Skin will do virtually the same show as the old Drew and Mike Show
- They will talk about movies, celebrities, pop culture and Detroit
- They will not be on WJR
- They will most likely end up at WKRK, 97.1 FM (my guess).

I was passed along a possble promo sheet Drew and Mr. Skin may be floating around to different radio stations. It says they will be on WJR in July! I’ve called WJR and the guy I talked to there had no idea about it. Stay tuned, I’ll update as I know…
Update June 25, 2008 - I have called every station on the supposed ”promo sheet.”They all flat out denies it. And a two of the program directors from the “committed” stations did not even know Drew Lane. Add this to the fact Drew said he was building a new radio studio in his home (in Detroit), it’s clear that this is fake.

The Mayor was outragged! How dare the police pull over his chief of staff. He went on th radio and called the traffic stop “The biggest piece of crap.” Drew and Mike even talk about how odd it was that the Mayor got so worked up over it and even hinted that they two might be sleeping around. The Mayor lost the case and the police were awarded a $25,000.00 settlement.

April 24, 2008The wizards at the WRIF are trying hard to erase Drew Lane. They are doing their best (which should say something) to rid their website of all mention of Drew.
Here is the new biography page. I understand they would remove Drew’s. No big deal there, but the guy who removed it forgot to delete Drew from Mike’s actual bio. Also the website for WRIF mornings is still wrif.com/dm. Shouldn’t they change it to just “m”? Or maybe if the web designer was clever he would make it wrif.com/mmm
They even erased Drew’s simpsonized picture from their picture page!
However, the internet archive caught it!
They even went through all the files and changed all references of Drew and Mike to The Morning Show, so you have this awkwardly written example (which appears all over the page).
